Project Share II

After the success of our Project Share Food Co-op, we were selected to participate in Walmart's Feed America Program. They donate food to our projects on a weekly basis.
Our second project share grant allowed the program to efficiently collect and store donated food items. We now have several refrigerators and freezers installed to safely store food until our monthly distributions in Pierson.

Paraguay Mammogram
|
|
Working with the National Cancer Institute and their contacts in Paraguay, Flagler Beach Rotary Club's grant project involved purchasing the mammogram unit, shipping it to Paraguay and having it installed at the regional hospital in Encarnacion where approximately 1200 women are now being screened annually with this machine.
The goal of the project is to have earlier detection of breast cancer and thereby increase the survival rate among women who previously did not have access to routine screening. The project also included disseminating cancer prevention information among the target population. Lives are being saved year after year in Paraguay, thanks to the successful DSG project of Flagler Beach Rotary Club and District 6970.

Paraguay Orphanage Bakery

We provided bakery equipment to an orphanage in Paraguay. This provides the children with occupational training and allows them to raise some money by selling the bread to the public.
